The Midway is on the 383/384 bus route just a few minutes ride from Stockport Bus Station and the Railway Station. There are buses every 20 min (approx) with the last bus passing the Midway just before midnight. See timetable for accurate timings. It’s about a 20 minute (1 mile) walk to Stockport bus station or the A6, 5 minutes more to the railway station. The Folk Club occupies one of two rooms downstairs at the back. A small room (on the right) can usually accomodate everyone on a singers’ night. The larger room (on the left) is used for for some singarounds and guest evenings. It seats sixty people and everyone can get a good view of the stage area. Both rooms overlook the river and we have a riverside veranda for singarounds on sunny evenings. The bar upstairs supplies the usual range of refreshments and there is normally at least one guest ale. The Midway is an excellent contemporary eating and drinking venue. More details here.
